Why Floor Prep Is Crucial for Industrial Epoxy Flooring

A lack of preparation can lead to issues later down the line. This is why we fully prepare your floors at Evolve Epoxy before applying any epoxy coatings on them.

We have an extensive floor installation process, that includes the following steps:

1. Mechanically diamond grind the concrete to remove stains, dirt, grime, and oil, clean out control joints, wire brush stem walls, and HEPA vacuum
2. Once the top layer of concrete is removed, we move on to repairing cracks, divots, and any holes.
3. Once the concrete is ready we apply an Epoxy Primer/ base coat with moisture barrier. This step covers the entire floor with industrial grade 2 part epoxy.
4. We move onto applying the chosen epoxy floor system.
5. Top coat: We use a uv stable material called polyaspartic. It is resistant to fading, yellowing, and hot car tire pickup. It is quick drying that allows foot traffic in 8 hours and a return to service time for vehicles in as little as 48 hours.
