Garage Flooring in Walnut, CA
Walnut is built on a hill, and that changes what a garage floor has to do. Water runs in off a sloped driveway, and anything you drop finds the low corner. We coat these slabs for grip first and looks second.

Most of the homes off Grand Avenue and up toward Lemon sit on a grade, and the driveway pitches straight down into the garage. Rain, hose water and whatever washes off the car all end up on the slab rather than running away from it. On bare concrete that means a permanent damp corner, efflorescence blooming white through the surface, and a slab that never fully dries out between storms.
A sealed floor changes the problem from absorption to drainage — water sits on top and sweeps out instead of soaking in. On a sloped bay we build in more grip than we would on a flat one, either by adjusting the flake broadcast or by adding an aggregate to the topcoat, so the floor is not slick when it is wet. We diamond grind first so the coating bonds into the concrete, fill the joints, and back the finished floor with a 10-year warranty.

Grip matters more on a graded slab than it does anywhere else we work, so the finish conversation in Walnut usually starts with texture and ends with color.

An even, high-gloss color with no pattern to it. On a hillside garage we would normally add traction to the topcoat rather than leave solid color bare, because gloss and a wet slope are a poor combination. Best where the garage is dry, level at the back, and you want it bright.

The right answer for most Walnut garages. Flake broadcast into wet epoxy leaves an orange-peel texture that holds grip when water tracks in off the driveway, and the chip pattern hides silt and leaf stain far better than a flat color does. Sealed under UV-stable polyaspartic so the section by the open door does not yellow in the sun.

The decorative option, built from metallic pigment suspended in resin and moved on site as it cures. It reads as a finished room rather than a garage. On a sloped bay we would spec it with added traction in the topcoat, or keep it to the dry back half of a split-level garage.
Floor preparation is vital for a long-lasting garage floor. Every garage floor we install goes through the same steps, and most of the work happens before any coating goes down.
