Hillside homes here were built with generous garages, and over time those bays have absorbed everything the house could not hold. Racking down both walls, a freezer, seasonal storage, bikes, a workbench at the back of the tandem. The floor takes point loads from shelving legs, dropped tools and dragged bins, and the back third often never sees a vehicle at all.
That changes the specification. A floor doing storage duty needs abrasion resistance more than it needs gloss, and it needs to survive things being dragged across it. It also needs to be bright, because the back of a deep tandem bay is genuinely dark. We diamond grind the full slab including under where the racking sits, fill the joints, and seal under UV-stable polyaspartic. The bays that do hold cars still get hot tires coming up the hill, so hot-tire resistance is not optional here either.
