Eastvale is one of the youngest cities in California. It incorporated in 2010, and almost all of it went up in a single stretch between the early 2000s and the mid-2010s on what had been dairy land. That shared build date matters more than it sounds.
Because the tracts here went in together, the floors in them are aging together. A great many Eastvale garages got a big-box kit or a builder's roll-on coating in the first few years of ownership, and those systems have now had ten to twenty summers in a closed inland garage. They peel at the door, lift in patches where the tires park, and flake away along the walls. We are called out to more of that here than anywhere else we work.
Coating over a failed coating does not work. The new floor is only ever as well stuck down as the old one underneath it, and that one has already let go. So the first job is removal: we grind the previous system off completely, back to sound concrete, then treat the slab on its own merits. Control joints filled, spalling at the door rebuilt, moisture checked before anything goes down. Only then does the new system go on, sealed under UV-stable polyaspartic. Eastvale garages are big, three bays is normal here, so there is a lot of floor to get right. Foot traffic in about 8 hours, vehicles back on at 48, and a 10-year material and craftsmanship warranty.
If you are replacing a coating that failed, it is worth understanding why the next one will not. All three of these go down over a properly ground slab and are sealed under polyaspartic.

One even color at high gloss, which brightens a deep three-bay garage considerably. It is the simplest of the three and the easiest to wipe down, though a plain field shows tire marks more readily than a broken pattern does.
